Northend United U10s  3  Dromore Amateurs  U10s 1                                         Saturday 25th November 2012

Northend U10s travelled to the Grove pitches in North Belfast to play Dromore Amateurs on Saturday. Both teams got of to a good start but it was Northend who pressed harder for the opening goal. They were rewarded for their effort when from an Aidan Graffin corner the ball struck a Dromore player and ended up in the net, making it 1-0 to the Northend Babies.

Dromore pressed forward looking to even the scoreline but with Northend's goalkeeper Sean Higgins kept them at bay, with a string of good saves. Northend attacked again and were rewarded with a free kick. Captain Oliver Hampshire stepped up to take and struck the ball from thirty-five yards out and hit the back of the net in a main contender for Goal of the Season. Half time score 2-0

Play resumed pretty much like the first half with both teams looking for goals. With Northend defence slow to react, Dromore got one back making it 2-1.
Northend again attacked the Dromore defence and after some super play from Oisin Connelly who laid the ball off at the feet of Northend's top goal scorer Aidan Griffin, and he made no mistake, making the final score 3-1 to Northend.

Northend United U10s  3  Sirocco Youths U10s  2                                    Saturday 18th February 2012

Northend U10s got back to competitive action after a three week lay-off and played Sirocco Youth at Dunfane Park on Saturday. The game got off to a good start with Northend pressing for a goal. The Blues dominated the early exchanges and they got their reward from a corner on the fourth minute, as Aidan Graffin took a corner and the ball landed at Josh Coates feet to slot it home, giving the  Blues a 1-0 lead.

Sirocco pressed forward looking for a goal but good defensive work from Rian Lennon and Oliver Hampshire kept them at bay. Both teams played good flowing football as Northend pressed for a second goal. Jude Scullion broke down the wing for a goal but ended as a corner kick. Aidan Graffin and Oliver Hampshire took a short corner and as Hampshire's cross rebounded off a Sirocco defender back into the path of Hampshire and he stroked the ball home, to give Northend a 2-0 cushion before a large crowd of parents and supporters. Sirocco then started pressing and got their reward making it 2-1 just before half time.

Play restarted in the second half much the same as the first half with both teams pressing hard to score against each other.  As Sirocco attacked the Northend defence, a mistake from a Northend defender let in the Sirocco striker to take a shot at the Blues keeper, who came out to pick it up but let it slip through his legs to make it 2-2.
The Northend Babies heads didn't drop but instead this spurred them on and they got their reward on fifty-two minutes with a through ball from Aidan Graffin found Rian Lennon and he gave the keeper no chance to make the score 3-2 to the Blues with time almost up in the match. The Blues saw out the remainder of the game to record a fine 3-2 home win at their Dunfane base, before one of their biggest crowds of the season.

Hillsborough Boys U10s  5  Northend United U10s  1                            Saturday 28th January 2012

Northend travelled to Henry Jones pitches in Castlereagh to play Hillsborough. The game started off with a good level off paste with both teams having chances. Hillsborough pressed forward looking for goals but with the Northend keeper Sean Higgins keeping Hillsborough at bay. Northend then took the play to Hillsborough with their chance at scoring but went a bay. Hillsborough broke through and make it 1-0 on twenty minutes, then added another two before half time making it 3-0 at half time.

Second half started just like the first half with Hillsborough getting a quick fourth goal making it 4-0. Then Northend progressed forward and took Hillsborough the play too Hillsborough, their was some good football from the Northend team, then they got their reward when Oliver Hampshire put a through ball through to Aidan Graffin who went on to slot it home, making it 4-1. Northend then kept pressing but there was no more rewards as Hillsborough scored their fifth to make it 5-1 final score.

Ballymena United U10s  7  Northend United U10s  0                                     Saturday 14th January 2012

Northend United faced their rivals Ballymena on Saturday at Broughshane. The game started of with both teams playing good flowing football. Northend had their chances with Rian Lennon through to take a shot but just hit the post. The play still flowed from end to end with Northend taking the game to Ballymena. With Ballymena United pressing hard, they went 1 nil up with a deflection of a Northend player which just went past the keeper.
More bad luck stayed with Northend when the referee awarded a penalty to make it 2 nil. With new keeper Sean Higgins making his debut in nets for Northend, making some great saves, Northend remained in the game. However Ballymena went on to add two further goals before half time.

The second half started pretty much like the first half from end to end. Ballymena started pressing forward with fresher legs and conceded three more goals final score 7 nil. This was the best performance from the wee Northend side who never gave up the fight, and to the new keeper Sean Higgins who made some fantastic saves.

Northend United U10s  1  Celtic Boys U10s  3                                                   Saturday 7th January 2012

Northend United U10s took on Celtic boys at Dunfane Park in the George Best Cup, Northend took the game to Celtic Boys as they kept pressing down the Celtic Boys defence, it was corner after corner but Northend could not find the net. Game moved from end to end as the Celtic Boys got a goal against the run of play, with a touch of offside to make it 1-0 at half time.

The second half started the same way the first half did with Northend taking the game to them, on the 36th minute Northend was rewarded with a goal from Rian Lennon to make it 1-1. Northend kept pressing for a second, but Celtic boys broke with Jason Givens making good saves to keep us in level terms.
As The Blues kept pressing for a second goal it left gaps in defence and  Celtic Boys sneaked through to score their second, making it 2-1.
Northend pushed forward as the ball broke to Rian Lennon brought down in the box but nothing was given it felt like one of these days nothing going their way. Northend didn't give up as they kept going Celtic Boys got another break and scored their third, to make it 3-1.

Although beaten, this was a good performance for the Northend Babez, who know they deserved to get something out of this game
